Nepenthes Tobaica Cultivation

Nepenthes tobaica is a very easy intermediate plant with some beautiful forms.

Cultivating Ease - Very Easy

Type - This plant has an extensive altitude range, from 950M to 2750M. It grows wickedly fast as an intermediate.

Temperature - Daytime temperatures can range from 80-95 degrees. Nighttimes temps between 60 degrees and 80 degrees.

Humidity - I keep the humidity above 70%.

Light - Bright light to full  (diffused) sunlight.  It grows very well in a large chamber under lights.

Moisture - Keep the plant moist and do not let the soil dry out.

Soil - Long Fiber Sphagnum

Size - Although the plant is rather small, the vines can grow in every which direction. In a large chamber, it can fill an area up with vines and pitchers. It can be pruned frequently to keep the plant in check.

Details: A very easy plant that produces small to medium sized pitchers. It can be a wicked grower. The main vine can divide and re-divide at the growing point, as well as send out a multitude of offshoots from the base. Pruning the plant will result in even more divides at the growing point to occur.

Propagation -  Very easy from cuttings. The only problem you're likely to encounter is that the cutting seems to rot quickly so if a new shoot doesnt form or if the roots dont form quickly enough, the cutting may rot.

Forms - There are a few forms of this plant, ranging from red to pink to green.
