Nepenthes Neoguinensis Cultivation
Nepenthes neoguinensis is an easy and beautiful plant to grow.
Cultivating Ease - Easy
Type - This plant grows well in lowland and intermediate conditions.
Temperature - Daytime temperatures can range from 80-95 degrees. Nighttimes temps between 60 degrees and 80 degrees.
Humidity - I would recommend keeping the humdity above 65%.
Light - It grows very well in a large chamber under lights. I have not tried to increase the light levels above this.
Moisture - Keep the plant moist. I usually grow this plant on a tray method. I sit the pot on about 1" of water, and over a week or two the water will evaporate and the soil will start to dry a bit. I then water again. If the plant dries out, it will lose its pitchers.
Soil - Long Fiber Sphagnum
Size - Not sure of the ultimate size of the plant, but lower rosettes can reach 1 1/2 feet in diameter.
Details: An easy plant that produces beautifully shaped and colored pitchers, especially lowers, which can be nearly black.
Propagation - I have yet to propagate this plant.
Forms - I only know of the typical form.
