Nepenthes Danseri Cultivation

Nepenthes danseri is a relatively newly described species.

Cultivating Ease - Easy

Type - Lowland

Temperature - Keeping it warm to hot at all times will make it happy. It is an excellent candidate for a stove house. Temperature drops into the 50's can harm the plant, and anything approaching freezing will kill it. It is one of the few plants that is especially sensitive to the cold.  In the wild the daytime temps can be very hot.

Humidity - Should be very high at all times.

Light - Low- Bright diffused light. Apparently, in the wild, it has been reported to grow in full sun.

Moisture - Keep the plant wet. Do not let the soil dry out.

Soil - Long Fiber Sphagnum.

Size - Unknown, although plants in cultivation are at least medium to large in size.

Details: This is a newly described species, and I haven't seen much about it. It appears to be easy under lowland conditions. It does not like drops in humidity or temperatures. It also exhibits transplant shock, so covering the plant in a plastic bag for a few weeks after transplanting should help it recover faster.

Propagation -  I have not yet cut this plant.

Forms - I only know of one form. The pitchers are creamy white with reddish streaks.
