Unlike S. leucophylla, S. flava plants within the same stand can virtually
look like clones of each other.
There are occasionally
color forms dropped in the midst of a stand, but for the most part, they are
practically identical to each other.
S. flava pitchers normally do not remain in prime shape for very long, and a
much shorter duration
than most every other Sarracenia. Also,
mold or fungus (cant remember which it is) begins to grow
on the nectar around
the lid, causing the pitcher to even more quickly appear
worn.
